This item has been SOLD,
It is rare to find a complete Kamr, the belt worn by warriors of Indias Hill Tribes who carried a musket. These belts, according to George Cameron Stone, carried flasks, bullet pouches and other loading implements with the combination of articles varying greatly. Our example has its original leather belt, with metal belt hook and two large pouches which were obviously crafted by the same hand. The metal pieces are comprised of a large powder flask and several finely crafted and engraved hooks which may have been for a sword as well as other necessary accoutrements. The leather has seen years of use and is very dry yet in good antique condition. Mid 19th Century. « Less

This item has been SOLD. This remarkably detailed bronze of Lt.Col. John C. Fremont depictied as "The Pathfinder" is number 1 of More »
This item has been SOLD. This remarkably detailed bronze of Lt.Col. John C. Fremont depictied as "The Pathfinder" is number 1 of an edition of 20, signed G. Wentworth and dated 1977. Wentworth's work is known for its historic accuracy and attention to the smallest detail. He was a passionate student of the westward expansion and the American frontier and that study is seen in his work. The viewer is immediately aware of not only this detail and historic accuracy but Wentworths ability to create an almost living tension in his work. Note the fixed attention of the subject as well as his horse. They both appear to have seen something which not only has their complete focus but they also appear about to move in that direction. Fremont leans slightly forward in his saddle and the horse has just started to raise a front and hind hoof, almost motion. A remarkable work that represents an excellent addition to any art collection. In excellent condition, slight scratches to the title plate. Size, H: 17.5", length 13". Size of base is 12" by 6.75". This piece has been SOLD. The Piedmont Hussars fought variously as a Regiment, in the Italian wars, for the Hungarians and More »
This piece has been SOLD. The Piedmont Hussars fought variously as a Regiment, in the Italian wars, for the Hungarians and ultimately were a part of Napoleons vast multi cultural army. 18th century Hussar sabers have decreased in availability in recent years as the number of collectors who collect Napoleonic arms and accoutrement have increased. This example has a well crafted iron hilt with artistically subtle detail, the ribbed hardwood wood handle appears to have been refinished. The flat sided, broad blade has a false edge and the customary curve, it appears to have been cleaned. The original iron scabbard, has two suspension rings and a contoured throat to accommodate the hilt configuration. The drag reflects normal wear. The iron battle scabbard has not been bent and has no holes, although there are two small dents near the upper suspension ring, as shown. A good solid sword. Blade 26.25", hilt 4.47". Period 1775-1800. « Less

With the Great War raging in Europe the United States remained uncertain about our involvement. In 1915 the National Security League commissioned a sculpture that recalled the highly romanticized success of the Rough Riders during the Cuba Campaign. This clean cut, assured soldier seems to be intended to put the country at ease during such troubled times. An attractive work of art with interesting historic significance. A sealed chalk sculpture. In very good condition with an old repair to the rifle. Size: 12.25" x 4.25" « Less
