Victorian, circa 1870 Copeland Majolica four paneled pitcher. Each panel decorated with a pink and white lotus flower and a large green leaf. Gray ground with impressed pattern. Cobalt archways around each panel. Diamond shaped neck. Brown studded border around the rim and to the handle. Turquoise interior. Cream underside with impressed maker''s marks ''N80'', ''K'', ''18s'', ''4.GILL'' and ''COPELAND''. Raised pattern registration diamond. Similar piece illustrated on page 118, Abrams ''Majolica A complete History and illustrated Survey'' by Karmason & Stacke. Very good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. No flakes. Circa 1890 Mafra Majolica Palissy ewer, cover and stand. Ewer featuring a large lizard handle, one further lizard, two crocodiles, a tortoise and two salamanders. All on green mossy ground. Cream interior and underside. Cover with a salamander forming the finial. Cream underside. Stand with green mossy ground around a green center. Green reverse with three stilt marks. Impressed maker''s mark ''M.MAFRA CALDAS PORTUGAL'' to underside of each piece. Good. Ewer: Minor flaking to the moss. Flake to eye of handle lizard and tail of larger crocodile. Restoration of lizard head and a restored chip to its tail. Restored chip to tail of handle lizard. Cover: Some flakes to the moss. Kiln effect: small shrinkage crack to salamander''s hind right leg. Bears a pattern number, ''3467''. English diamond registration mark for the date 18/12/1875. Book reference Good. Bruise to one flower petal. Some wear to the sides. Wear to the interior. Filled holes to either side of the handle, where a pewter lid once was mounted. The toucan forms the handle and is stood on a rock, leaning backwards, with the end of its beak touching the rim of the glass. Cream interior. Cream underside with vent hole and maker''s mark ''PRODUCED IN GREAT BRITAIN FOR ARTHUR GUINNESS SON & Co. (PARK ROYAL) LTD. STOKE-ON-TRENT'' and ''GA/2316'' printed in black. Generally good. Circa 1890 Large Majolica Palissy ewer and cover. Ewer featuring a large lizard handle, two beetles and a moth molded around the neck. Two further lizards, a crocodile, beetle and snail to the main body. Lizard forming the finial to cover. All applied onto green mossy ground. Cream glaze to interior and base of ewer, and underside of cover. Three stilt marks to underside of ewer and cover flange. Generally good. Ewer: Flaking to moss tips. Flake to snail shell and hind leg of one beetle on the neck of ewer. Flaking to the base and associated with stilt marks. One leg missing from each beetle on the neck of ewer. One antennae missing from the moth and beetle lower down. Kiln effect: shrinkage crack to tail of the smallest lizard. Repair to body of the smallest lizard, and restoration of its head. Both snail antennae and legs of lower beetle restored. Restored chip to rim. Retouching to mouth of lizard on handle. Cover: Repaired crack. Restoration of the lizard''s head.
