Without a doubt, one of the finest antique Chinese export porcelain tureen and stands on the market today. Of robust size, the octagonal tureen with it's original lid and stand is decorated in subtle yet vivid colours of the famille rose pallet showing loose arrangements of strewn flowers on a white background within a border of stylized scrolls and festoons and shells. The arms are of Archer of Umberslade in Warwickshire, with the motto, "Fortitudo". Slight touch up to some of the enamels on the crest. The top left corner of the platter has a 2 inch hair line with a restored 1/8 inch"V" chip. The platter is 16 1/4 x 13 inches. The tureen is 14 inches long from the handles and 8 3/4 wide. $16,650 + shipping.
