Description: You are viewing a gorgeous double fronted English mahogany openfront bookcase with Sheraton inlay. I hope the photos do this stunning piece some justice, it is certainly more impressive in the flesh. The piece has an air of classical refinement to the design with the clean lines and the pediment top. At the top is the draped garlands marquetry inlay in satinwood complemented by the horizontal lines to the front. The great thing about these is their flexibility with the adjustable shelf system so you can store items of different sizes. Of course these are conventionally bookcases but you can also use them to showcase decorative items such as porcelain and bronze. They are indeed a perennial design classic and look great in both classic and contemporary interiors. The bookcase is offered in perfect condition ready for home use right away and we will ship to anywhere in the world. The joints are solid and sturdy with no wobbles, the finish is lovely also. We bought these from a dealer in Debenham and we will ship these to anywhere in the world. Dimensions are in inches: Width x Depth x Height 54 x 14 x 79   « Less

Description: You are viewing a beautiful pair of mahogany open front bookcases with adjustable shelves working on a slat stystem, which makes this very flexible in the type of items you store on the shelves. The obvious choice is to use this for books but you can make the shelves higher to store bigger, perhaps decorative, items. They are the ultimate in space saving stylish interior design and are particularly suited for the home study where they can be used to display all your favourite tomes. The dental break fronted cornice adds elevation and grandeur to this pair which are very colonial in style. They are a solid pair and have a wonderful set of columns to either side of each bookcase. They are offered in near perfect condition ready for home use right away.   « Less

Description: You are looking at a pair of English Sheraton style openfront bookcases hand crafted from the finest walnut. This lovely pair are the perfect mix of decorative beauty and practical functionality to make for a vintage design classic. They look great in any room and they are able to store lots of items. Ostensibly they are bookcases but of course you can use them to hold other items, they look particuarly good with decorative items - statues, vases etc - in them. However, for myself, being the bookish type I have a pair in my home with nothing but lovely, fading works of literature in them. The shelves are adjustable to suit meaty tomes or smaller paperbacks. The shelves work on a slat system so you can adjust them to whatever height you like for whatever you like, from 'War and Peace' to the 'World's Smallest Book of Poetry' these bookcases are perfect. The open fronts are Sheraton style, main body is walnut polished to a high sheen with solid shelves The inlay is made from various fruitwoods - satinwood, rosewood, applewood - to create a beautiful affect. The fruitwoods are softer hence there use as inlay within the harder mahogany. The level of the craftmanship on these is absolutely superb, both strucurally in that they are very solid, and also with the intricacy of the inlay. The close up pictures of the inlay work hopefully illustrates the level of craftmanship with patterns of scrolling branches, urns and flower motifs. They would be the highlight of any room and due to their solid construction will last for many generations more. They are in perfect conditon structurally and they have just come back from the restorers where they were repolished so they are ready for home use straight away. Dimensions: Height 82” - 208cm Width 39” - 99cm Depth 12.5 “ - 32 cm   « Less
