This item has been SOLD> An elegant example of a sterling silver oil lamp cigar lighter by Tiffany & Co.The lamp body is surrounded by a pierced rim with the pattern repeated in the handle and again on the rim of the attached saucer. The lamp snuff is attached by a silver chain. In very good condition, with no dents or damage only light abrasion from use and age. The lighter wick is now missing. The Tiffany & Co mark is stamped on the base. Late 19th C. 5" in diameter, 2.5 " in height. ex. Butterfield and Butterfield San Francisco.   « Less

A very fine Imperial Russian silver and niello tobacco box dated 1884. With a classic Imperial period Dacha on the lid and a floral surround cartouche bearing the initials SD on the back. The gilt interior bears the date 1884 as well as an assayers touch mark on both the lid and bottom. In excellent condition with only sight wear from use and age. Size is three and five eights by two and one eighth.   « Less

A very unusual German Cigarette Case in that it is not trench art but commercially made and according to the date stamped on the drum faces in the motif, produced after WW!. Unusual in the sense that the Imperial family was in disgrace in the eyes of the German people for having lost the war. The Kaiser was banished from Germany and the new German government discouraged the use of Imperial crests, seals or flags. One can only guess that this case was made immediately after the war and then in only very limited numbers. An interesting piece of history and a great addition to a variety of collections. In very good condition showing light abrasion from use. One of the interior cigarette retaining springs is stretched and requires adjustment. Size 3.25" x 3.75". 1918-19.   « Less

This lighter seems to be to well finished to be catagorized as "Trench Art". The symmetry and finish suggest commercial work to be sold to patriotic citizens and soldiers. The subject also suggests that it may be post Spanish American thru WWI. The Federal shield and Eagle are of that period. A nice quality addition to any military or lighter collection. Either an intended thumb rest in the center of the eagle or a slight dent. 2.2" to top of spark wheel, 1.5" wide.   « Less
