For sale is a beautiful piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Magnolia" and it is in the ever Popular Blue background Glaze. The Console Bowl has some size to it as it stands 3 1/2" tall and is 13 1/4" wide outside handles measurements. It is 7 1/4" deep. The inside bowl measures 11 5/16" outside lip measurements. The inside measurement is 10 3/4". The Bowl displays a nice shape. It has an irregular top border with lots of high and lows. It has two triangular applied handles at each end for easy handling. The Bowl has a very pleasing two toned blue textured background glaze. This seems to resemble bark from a tree. It is further embossed with 2 large off White Magnolia Flowers with Pink Centers. The pattern is a little bit different on the opposite side but the glaze colors are the same. There is some Fuchsia Sky glaze coloring on the top right hand corner of the bowl and this the same on both sides. These flowers on both sides appear to be flowering from wavy black branches. The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is signed on the bottom in raised relief "Roseville U.S.A." and the mold number 449-10" also in raised relief. The vase has a large letter "M" and the number "13" written in a Blue grease pencil. This was more than likely the finisher's mark. This Console Bowl vase is extremely clean as you can see. This piece was made in 1943 during World War II. Those of you who collect this pattern and want a nice example need to look no further. This is an excellent example in both form and Glaze combinations.   « Less

For sale is a lovely Art Pottery vase made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Teasel" and it is done in their highly collected two toned tan/brown background Glaze. This Pattern is one of Roseville's harder to find to collect. The shape is known as a "Rose Bowl" and it stands 4" tall and is 7 1/4" in diameter outside handles measurement. The inside rim of the Rose Bowl is 2 7/8" in diameter. The Rose Bowl has a very pleasing Tan background glaze with a Caramel Brown foot and lower 1/3 of the bowl. The pattern depicts a pointed weed looking Teasel on long stems. This pattern is on both sides with one side having 2 teasels and the other side only having one. The Bowl has 2 applied closed handles that resemble ears. The inside of the bowl is very clean and shows a light tan glaze. The Rose Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks nicks, chips or dings. There are a few minor glaze pops in the glaze. The Rose Bowl is signed on the bottom with the incised "Roseville" cipher along with the pattern number "342-4". You do not commonly find this pattern in the North East and leads me to believe that this pattern is somewhat rare. This Rose Bowl was made Circa 1938.   « Less

For Sale is a Wonderful piece of Art Pottery Planter made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is the ever so Popular "Woodcraft" pattern and the Design is that of a Squirrel sitting on a branch eating a Nut. Some Weller collectors also clarify this as Muskota because of the Animals and Glaze Colors. The Shape is Considered a Planter or footed Bowl. The Planter or Bowl stands 3 3/4" Tall and is 7 5/8" in diameter at its widest point. The Planter Depicts 4 Separate Panels of a Squirrel Sitting on a Branch getting ready to eat an Acorn in a Forest scene. There is wonderful Green Foliage in the background of each Panel as well as deep Brown Branches forming the Outline or Cameo for each Squirrel including the Branch he is sitting on. The Planter has 4 Raised Lobed Feet giving this piece that added height. This pattern is a Nature Lovers delight. The Colors are Good and the Detail just splendid as it displays a very Naturalistic View. The Planter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no Cracks, or Chips. There is a very tiny Glaze Fleck along the lower bottom branch between 2 feet on the bottom. This is pictured. The piece is unsigned as is the case with most of these Squirrel Planters. They probably had a paper or foil label at one time. Woodcraft is a very Popular Line to collect and this Particular Planter is one of the most desirable to own. There were two sizes to this Bowl. This is the larger Size. Those of you who collect Weller Pottery especially the Woodcraft Line and want an very nice example this is the piece to purchase. It is very clean an it appears that this Bowl sat on a Shelf and was not used as the condition both inside and out is wonderful! Sometimes this pattern is confused with Flemish as Weller Categorized them as such. Woodcraft is from Weller Pottery's middle period, Circa 1920-1933.   « Less

This Flora Danica large oval pierced fruit basket is quite special. It is an usually large size, about 10-1/4" long including the handles, 7-1/2" wide, 3-1/2" high. The hand painted plums in the center of the bowl, identified as Prunus domestica L. on the bottom, form the best decoration I have ever seen in the center of these baskets. The full Royal Copenhagen marks appear on the bottom. The basket dates to about the second half of the 20th century. The condition is excellent, no damage to any of the flowers, no cracks, chips or wear to the gold. This type of basket sells for about $16,000 at retail.
