Antique 19th century (1831-96) Qajar Dynasty Persian Islamic ceramic bottle –flask of globular body with tall slender neck, flaring trumpet mouth on short spreading foot. Painted under glaze in blue, turquoise, cream, brown and ochre enamels on white background with seated figures of a lady and a gentleman in Persian costumes holding flask and the goblets in palace garden. The flask neck is decorated with vertical blue stripes and foliates bands covered in a rich deep glaze. CONDITION: Showing the age and usage, neck broken and repaired, the neck glaze with old repaired chips. DIMENSIONS: Height: 31.3 cm (12 1/4 in) Width: 14 cm (5 1/2 in). The baluster shape central staff has three arms with wick spouts terminated in stylized dragon’s heads, resting on an oval trumpet foot. Complete with long suspension chain adorned in the middle with an elaborate circular plate and solid hook on the end. Dimensions: Overall length including the chain: 85 cm (33 1/2 in).Height of the lamp: 35 cm (13 3/4 in) .Width, including wick holder: 24cm (9 1/2 in). SOLD Authentic antique 17th-19th century African Benin Bronze ancestral altar Bell from Nigeria, Cast in the form of a truncated, four-sided pyramid of  rectangular  shape, with sides sloping inward to the flat top with two pierced holes for suspension of the clapper. The bell is surmounted with two strap-like handles. The sides are adorned with faces of inverted triangle shape with long narrow noses and protruding chins, these features make them look more Caucasian European rather than African.   Each edge is highlighted by a rope patterned string with small knobs at all corners.   CONDITION: The bell is in its original condition with beautiful natural dark patina. Missing clapper, the rusty iron spots in the interior of the bell indicate that the clapper was made of iron, which corroded and disintegrated over time.
