5 drawer chest of drawers from "The Auburn" series by Kent Coffey. Mid-Century Modern, highly collectable (bottom) 40" L x 20" D, (top) 38" L x 18.5" D, Height is 48". Do a Google search on "Kent Coffey funiture" and you'll see that this furniture is very collectible. Information about the Kent Coffey furniture company is scarce. What is known, Harold Coffey owned the Lenoir, NC-based furniture company. He was friend and competitor to James Broyhill, among others making furniture in the 1950s-1960s. A hard to find pair of knole sofas with Moorish or Turkish style backs , made by Baker Furniture we believe in the late 1970's (or to be safe second half of 20th century ) . We have had two other pair over the past 20 years . All in similiar condition . These are worn , need cushions to be re-stuffed and possibly springs tightened . The last pair we had was in red velvet . The designer who bought them said it took 16 yards of fabric (mohair in her case ) PER sofa and $1700 in labor for both (including the tack work ) . Her finished product appeared in Veranda 2009 . So be prepared for some upholstery work but compare a pair of knoles (and our price) to those found in a google search or on trade sites such as 1stdibs.com .
