Victorian, circa 1880 Pair Staffordshire spill vases in the form of seated white and gilt spaniels. Bright gilt collar, locket, coat decoration and base line. Yellow, green and brown painted ground. Orange spill interior. Similar pair illustrated on page 117, Schiffer''s ''Staffordshire Spaniels'' by Adele Kenny. Good. Right facing: Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: slightly stained crazing to reverse of spill. Retouching to spill and ground. Left facing: Slight rubbing to gilt. Repaired shrinkage crack to underside.
