Photos provided from a Seattle collection, as an example. Acquired in the early 1990's, a calcified jade box with carvings in the archaic style. We feel however, that it is probably a work crafted during the later Qing Dynasty. The fitted lid bears split tail dragons or chimera in the pursuit of the Pearl of Wisdom and surrounded by an archaic style kangi. In very good condition. 19th C. Size. Length, 6.5" x 3.75" wide. « Less

A good example of a hand made Chinese cloisonne jar. The classic enamel decoration is characteristic of the period found in the late 19th C thru the early 20th C. The pin holes in the enamel are also characteristic of this and earlier period, Close examination of the wire cells further reflect a hand made process. The interior counter enamel is light blue and has a rough finish further suggesting late 19th C construction. the lid is original to the jar. Over all condition is very good with only one tiny loss in the petal of one flower. Height 7.6: x 4". « Less

Photos from a Seattle estate for study. A pair of blue and white Mei Ping vases decorated in an under glaze blue style often associated with the Wan Li Period. Nice to find a pair obviously from the same kiln and decorated by the same hand. While these are export pieces, exemplified by the buff biscuit, rough foot, slightly uneven shape and a more dull glaze, they are none the less, classic examples of their period and, in addition, a pair. In very good condition with only some minor glaze flaws and a firing flaw in one foot. Circa 1600. Height 9.6", approximately 5" in diameter at the shoulder. Acquired from Flores and Iva, New York 1989. « Less
