Victorian, circa 1870 George Jones Majolica cheese dome and stand decorated with apple blossom moldings on barrel effect ground. Handle molded as a green branch with air hole underneath. Mauve interior. Mottled green and brown reverse to stand. Three stilt marks and impressed mark inside the foot. Painted mark and three stilt marks inside the dome. Generally good. Dome: Two flakes to top edge. Kiln effects: brown glaze run to exterior; small touch mark to base edge. Restoration to handle. Stand: A few flakes around the edge. Some wear to reverse. Kiln effect: crazing with slight staining to center, small brown glaze run from edge into center. Restored chip and bruise to inner rim. Three restored chips to foot. Dome does not sit perfectly in groove of stand. 10.25ins high, 12.5ins diameter (stand)   « Less

Victorian, circa 1870 George Jones Majolica cheese dome and stand decorated with apple blossom moldings on barrel effect ground. Mauve interior. Air hole to top of dome. Mottled green and brown underside to stand. Three stilt marks inside the foot along with molded figure of 8 tablet with ''GJ'' monogram ''STOKE ON TRENT'' and painted pattern number ''1427''. Dome and stand are possibly matched as the dome is not a perfect fit on the stand, and the interior glaze color is slightly different on both pieces. Despite this, it displays very well. Good. Dome: Kiln effect: a few pieces of kiln detritus to the top. Repaired crack to side. Stand: No restoration. Small flake to inside rim. Slight wear to interior and foot. 10.5ins high, 12.25ins diameter (stand)   « Less

Victorian, circa 1870 Majolica centerpiece modeled as a scantily clad maiden, kneeling on a mottled base and supporting a pierced basket above her head. The basket is resting on a garland coil, the ends of which are held over her back by the maiden. Mottled brown and cobalt glazes to basket interior. Basket exterior decorated with cobalt flowers and spiky green leaves. Modeled on a scroll decorated base with washy ochre glaze to underside. Generally good. Tight hairline to basket rim. No chips. No flakes. Kiln effects: a few small glaze misses to the mottled base; shrinkage cracks to underside of base. Repair to reattach the basket. 13.5ins high, 8.5ins diameter at top   « Less
