Antique fish brooch / pin made of gold set with diamonds, turquoises and rubies for eyes. 19th century. The fish is wonderfully designed with raised fins. His tail swirls around. Old cut diamonds glitter as do the richly coloured turquoise gems. The lock on the pin is very secure and quite unusual. (see photos). There is a gold hallmark, somewhat rubbed near the tail. Classic antique Victorian 14 carat gold ring with a carved coral woman''s face, possibly dating to Ancient Rome, mounted during the early Victorian period . 1830-50. US size 7. Almost 5/8inches long. Great orange-red colour to the coral with no striations in paler shades. The oval-shaped coral is deeply carved by a master into the form of a front-facing woman, beautiful round face, great detail to hair and wearing a crown of some sort. She looks like an Ancient Greek / Roman woman of Royalty and may be a goddess. Very finely done. Old Greek and Roman cameos were re-used by the Georgian and Victorians. The coral is set in a gold mount with delicate triangular openwork pattern on the sides to echo the curves of the clasps that hold the coral. The band is tubular and thin, - looks very elegant, even on a less than elegant finger. The tubular band of this ring is typical of the Georgians, while the clasping mount is more Victorian in style. The inside of the band has something engraved - whether a hallmark or initials, it has been obscured and is not quite legible. The ring was tested for 14 carat gold. Condition is good. Victorian 15 carat gold and 3 stone pink topaz ring. English, Circa 1880. US size 6. Stunning ring consists of 3 pink topaz each set in gold openwork scrolls. Scrolling pattern continues on the shoulders of the band. The sides, almost all the way around the ring are decorated and not the usual plain gold band. Great quality workmanship. THe stones are a fabulous colour and while I am no gemologist, they look to be very good quality to my eye. Good condition. Antique 14k gold bracelet set with amethysts and pearls. Made in Hungary, circa 1920-40. Length is slightly over 8 inches. Weighs 44grams. Exceptional workmanship and quality: Gold is crafted into sculptural works of art - openwork flowers and scrolls, leaves and fleur-de-lis, and then set with fabulous deep purple amethysts and pearls. 8 sections, graded in size, with the largest in the centre. Central (largest) stone is approx 1cm in length. Gemologist measured a total of 6 carats of amethysts and 4 3.75mm pearls. The back of the bracelet is as stunning as the front: Here it is possible to see the openwork ''cages'', the largest of which is about 12mm high. The clasp is very strong. There is a hallmark on the tongue of the clasp (see ''photos). Very good condition. Measures approx 1 1/2 inches long X slightly under 1 1/4 inches wide. Vridlovec, used in jewellery especially to be bought at Europe''s health spas of the 19th century with beautiful varied markings. The cushion cut rectangle is surrounded by a ring of old garnets that offset the central stone beautifully. Set in tomback (gold coloured metal used in Czech jewellery). High quality workmanship. Antique Victorian Neo Classical / Etruscan Revival earrings. 19th century. Measure approx 3/4 inch in diameter. Weigh approx 7grams. Round earrings with tiny patterned borders. A ring of black enamel and gold with concave circles, each with a little raised flower. Two wavy, raised wall enclose a ring of seed pearls and inside that is a circle enclosing a raised badge with black enamel. It would be possible to engrave initials on the raised badge, but it has been left empty. Finest quality workmanship and minute detail. There are no hallmarks on the earrings, but I tested them and they test for at least 18carat gold. The loops with little globes from which they hang are possibly later as they are only 14carat (although the Victorians were known to mix different calibres of gold). Very good condition - no damage and enamel is in excellent shape with no wear. Rectangular ring with rounded corners. A border of small seed pearls with 4 round emeralds - one at each corner. Within that is a band with pairs of inverted scrolls, gilt washed, and that encloses a rectangle with an emerald in the center. Top of ring is gilt washed.
