Antique Georgian / very early Victorian eye brooch. 15K yellow gold and enamel, handpainted miniature portrait of an eye. Made in England circa 1800 - 1840. Measures 7/8 inches in length. Weighs 4 grams. Handpainted miniature eye. Fine detail to the brown iris. Lovely, tantalising little lock of hair seen on one side and the slightest hint of the nose on the other. Eye jewellery was popular as gifts between lovers during the Georgian era. Set in an oval gold mount with ridged border and a black-enamelled middle ring. Gold tests for 15carats. No hallmarks. Antique, Victorian double daisy ring set with pearls, diamonds, sapphire and ruby gemstones. Made 1870-90. US size 6.25. Rare to find a delicate double floral ring of this quality. A swirl of diamonds encloses a daisy, bypassing and mirrored by another daisy surrounded by an identical scrolling swirl of diamonds. The petals formed by pearls and the center of one a ruby, the other a sapphire. Enticing glint of the diamonds. Setting shows superior quality workmanship which results in a highly attractive, quietly beautiful piece of jewellery. Like much Victorian jewellery, the stones are mounted in silver on gold. Antique Victorian necklace - yellow gold set with cabochon turquoise. Made in England 1830-1840. 18 inches long. Weighs 48 grams. A variation of the more common snake necklace, the knot is also a sign of friendship and love. Exquisitely made tubular form created from round links set at right angles to each other facing each of the 4 directions and each with a colette set, cabochon turquoise. Made to look like a rope, one side knotted over the other, ending with a wonderful bell/half-globe shaped tassle of gold and turquoise. The clasp, at the opposite end to the knot, is very finely made. Close inspection shows one slightly raised round turquoise stone, which released or snaps the clasp shut. Antique, Victorian, Neo Etruscan / Classic bangle with locket. 15 carat yellow gold with malachite. Made 1850-80. Measures 2 3/8 inch accross outside of bangle; 2 inches accross inside of bangle - side to side. 1 5/8 inches accross inner side top to bottom. Weighs 46grams. Hinged bangle with sturdy clasp and safety chain for additional security. Back consists of looping, spiralling gold ribbons. Front is exquisite gold openwork moulded foliage. The top/front of the bangle is a round locket. THe borders enclose a ring decorated with Classic filigree, echoing the scroling engraved pattern on the sides of the top. The center is set with a large cabochon malachite gemstone with fabulous natural striations. Opens to reveal two glass-cased enclosures that can hold either portraits of loved ones or locks of hair. Exceptionally fine Victorian gold chain. Gold tests between 14-18 carats. Made circa 1850-1885. Measures 20 inches long. Weighs 19grams. Each section of the chain comprised of 4 links, alternating in direction. Each of the quadruple links is a circle with concave center bordered by raised bands. Wonderfully made, visually highly appealing and best of all, enhances both day and night wear. No hallmarks, but tests between 14 and 18 carat. Good condition. Antique Victorian ring in the shape of the Ace of Clubs. Made of 18 carat gold, diamonds and lapis lazuli. Circa 1880. Weighs 10grams. A little under US size 6 1/2. Total length is 1 1/8 inches. Unusual and very attractive ring consisting of 3 cabochon globes of intense blue lapis lazuli, the right-most globe has a few gold flecks (see ''photos). Base and center in old mine cut diamonds. Looks great - (see even my ancient hands in the ''photos). No hallmarks, but gold tested for 18 carats. General condition is very good with no damage to stones/restorations. Age has caused a tiny split in the band where it joins the colette on the side (see magnified ''photos), but still securely attached and easilly remedied if you so desire. Antique Belle Epoque era bracelet made of 18carat white gold set with cabochon coral and diamonds. Made 1890 - 1920. Measures 7 1/4 inches long. Weighs 14 grams. The bracelet consists of 7 cabochon corals, each set in a ring of rose-cut diamonds on an openwork setting and linked on either side to a bow of diamonds. A very sturdy clasp is made to look like the other diamond bows and is well camouflaged thanks to excellent workmanship. Not hallmarked, but tests for 18 carat gold. very good condition. Antique Victorian 18 carat gold, cabochon garnet, diamond and enamel bracelet with mourning or lover''s locket at the back. Circa 1860-80. Measures 7 1/8 inches long. Weighs approx 20 grams. The links of the locket are outstanding - in the form of foliage graded in size - clover leaves in 3-dimention, so finely made that the links going one through the next cannot easilly be seen. Smallest links towards the clasp on either end, increasing in size towards the center. The center is a large cabochon garnet (approx 1 1/8 inches long) amidst swirling foliage and a pair of sky-blue-enamelled forget-me-nots, set with diamonds on either side. The back of the bracelet has a small locket containing the hair of a loved one. The hair is original and still in it''s neat braid. Clasp is so well made that it is difficult to distinguish when closed. A safety chain for extra security shows that the bracelet was considered an expensive, luxury item at the time of it''s manufacture. The bracelet itself is not hallmarked, but tested for at least 18 carat gold. Condition is original and generally very good. The enamel on the tip of one tiny petal partially lacking, which is not visible except when viewed with magnification as in the ''photographs. Antique Georgian enamel on copper brooch with a miniature portrait painting of a child, dog and bird in a landscape garden. Made in England circa 1820 - 1840. Measures a little over 1 1/2 inches long. Rectangular brooch with canted corners. The outer border is enamelled in shades of light and dark blue, and white, highlighted in gold. The work is exquisite - tiny granules, almost invisible to the naked eye, enamel foiled for iridescence and shine. The inner scene is of a young girl in a white dress with pink ribbon around her waist and pink shoes and plumed straw hat. She and the little Spaniel dog at her feet are chasing after a bird that takes off above a bush with bright pink roses. In the distance, a lightly painted fountain plays from the mouth of a Classical/mythological sculpture. Finely painted trees in the background. The scene is classic Georgian and quite beautifully executed with absolute charm and grace. Fabulous condition - no damage and no restorations. Weighs 6 grams. Cabochon pink gemstone, cut in rounded ridges or folds, reminiscent of a beehive. Set in an outstanding, exceptional mount that constitutes a superb Arts and Crafts design of curves in multi-dimentions, floral and fan shell shapes.
