Elegant in its simplicity is this Scottish carpet bowling ball of lustrous lignum vitae. Originally made of stone, the bowls were replaced in the Seventeenth Century by ones in pottery or, much more rarely, in this tropical wood. This example is Nineteenth Century, manufactured in Glasgow by R. G. Lawrie and approved by the Scottish Carpet Bowling Association. It is approximately 3-3/4 inches in diameter and is decorated with six inlaid plugs of ivory.   « Less

A completely unique and unusual cane handle the likes of which I have never seen. Probably a one of a kind piece. Amazing piece in its original box from Asprey. Asprey established its reputation as the premier maker of luxury goods by winning a gold medal for its dressing cases at the International Exhibition of 1862. In the same year Asprey was granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria. Superb condition in its fitted case. 3'' tall and six of the eight replacement tips still remain. Top opens to reveal a compact area though unused a bit of Victorian magnificence that will probably not be equaled. Dated 1910 and .925 Sterling. Beautiful 14k gold perfume / scent bottle with snapping cap. Done in a soft dore 14K gold in a tapering form with a cap that snaps shut with the original cork in it. Initialed on the front ASH and minor depression on rear (photo is blurred a bit on back to remove a paper label there). Very good overall condition and quite rare to find a solid gold perfume like this. Circa 1890 unmarked but tested as 14K, measures a little over 3'' long and weight .35 of an ounce of gold. Very interesting and rare wax figure of Washington as Caesar. Very well done likeness in a shadow box dating from the same era probably very late 18th to early 19th Century. Could possibly be Caesar in a Grand Tour item of the same period. Very rare and unusual ite. Figure is full bust 5'' tall and in a 11'' shadow box. Appears to be in very good condition with a nose hit noted and perhaps a age line that makes it look like viened marble. Circa 1820 and a highlight piece.
