Early 19th century Burmese Sadiak Chest with Thayo work and jeweled glass, red and balck laquers. The stand is made of Teak wood and was added to the Chest in the 1900's. The stand can be removed. This is a Budddhist prayer chest for holding, Buddhist manuscript."Collectible" and hard to come by these days. Myanmar "Burma" is still a very closed country.
