Here is a very desirable English magnum sealed wine bottle that held wine vinted in the 1811 Great Comet year!. Beautiful deep green glass with some whittling (crude glass). Blown in an early 3 piece mold and finished in an early form snap-case.
1811 was an exceptional year for wine and wine bottled during that comet year fetched a premium on the market. The wine was bottled and sold for several years after the appearance of the comet. Many believed the wine to have talismanic properties!
Bottle is near mint with only a hard to see flake off bottom of seal and a tiny surface pinprick on reverse. A better specimen would be very hard to find. About 13" tall. An impressive English sealed wine bottle in a robust form!
