STEUBEN, SELENIUM RED STEMMED CHAMPAGNE GLASS, NICE - For Sale

STEUBEN, SELENIUM RED STEMMED CHAMPAGNE GLASS, NICE
Price: $165.75
For sale is a Lovely piece of Art Glass blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is a "Stemmed Champagne". The Champagne is blown in Frederick Carder's very desirable and hard to find "Selenium Red" Glass. The Stemmed Champagne stands 5 1/4" tall and the cup is 2 13/16" in diameter and the foot has a diameter of 2 1/2".

The Stemmed Champagne displays a very beautiful rich clear Ruby Red glass. The round foot, stem and receiving cup are all made of this Rich Red Glass. It starts out with a round foot that has a tapered stem applied to it. It starts out slender at the bottom becomes a little wider at the top and then tapers back into the slender shape as it attaches to the underside of the receiving cup. This is very delicate to the touch. The receiving Cup has a unique shape as you can see. The Glass has a nice rolled top edge.

The Champagne is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are minimal scratches along the bottom. There is also a few tiny air bubbles in the stem and cup. This is quite common with early glass. The piece is Signed with remants of Steuben's Acid Etched Stamped "Fleur de Lis" Mark with "Steuben" inside on the bottom.

Those of you who collect Colored Steuben and want a very nice example will be quite pleased with their purchase. This piece was made during the Frederick Carder Years, Circa 1918-1932.
