Two Matching Antique Large Pendant Lights with Original Conical Shades, Patented 1934 NC1341-RW - For Sale

Two Matching Antique Large Pendant Lights with Original Conical Shades, Patented 1934 NC1341-RW
Price: $875.00
Matching pair of very unusual antique light fixtures with original conical opaline glass shades, patented by George Ainsworth in May, 1934. Each pendant light begins with a tilting chrome canopy, allowing it to be mounted on a sloped ceiling. It has a chrome pole with an elongated fitter to support its original cone-shaped opaline glass shade. The conical white shade features a brown foliate and vine pattern around the middle, tapering to a pattern of starbursts and papyrus leaves. As detailed in 1934 patent #1957192, the fixtures were designed with their unique shade to "intercept all the light that normally would be distributed downward and redirect the major portion of it over the broadest possible ceiling area above the device." These light fixtures are in excellent antique condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the edges. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. Each chandelier body measures approximately 19-1/2” wide, 15” tall, and 36” long overall. THE PRICE LISTED IS FOR EACH FIXTURE; THERE ARE TWO AVAILABLE. Coordinating light fixtures available under items #NC1340-RW and #NC1342-RW.
