Howard Pierce Pottery family of birds. Howard Pierce had an incredible artistic talent and ability to capture the essence of his subjects through ceramic art. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom of bird on stump is stamped HOWARD PIERCE as well the bird with the beak up. Bird on the stump is 6" tall and 4 1/2" wide, bird with beak up is 3 3/4" tall and 4" long and the beak down bird is 3 1/4" tall and 5" long. Howard Pierce's California pottery consisted of distinctively modern figurines of animals, birds and people. Howard Pierce was a highly talented artist and a one-man studio potter who started his work in the 1940's and continued up until his death in 1994.
