A ex rare, possibly unique, Barth “Natural” guitar.
In the late 50’s Paul Barth, after working at Rickenbacker and before working at Magnatone, contracted with the Natural Music Guild in Santa Ana, California to distribute his guitars. Most of these look like the 1959 line of Magnatone guitars and have a decal on the headstock that reads “Barth, Natural Music Guild, Santa Ana, Calif.”
This one has some considerable differences. First the headstock is simply labeled “Natural, Santa Ana”. The body is painted a desert sand color (all original) the pickup top is cream with a gold bezel and the pick guard is brown fiberglass (not painted) and not white like all the rest. Furthermore the guitar has an original bronzium trapeze tailpiece and later floating bridge (Bigsby aluminum top and wheels with an attractive hardwood base) designed after a catalog illustration of a similar early Barth designed Magnatone bridge.
The original Kluson Deluxe 3 on a plate tuners are all excellent!
Light weight semi hollow body and FUN to play!
Electronics are original and untouched. Pots, made by the Chicago Telephone Supply Corporation, date to the 23rd week of 1959 and to the 8th week of 1960.
So this guitar can be considered an early 60, privately made by Paul Barth when he was working at Magnatone.

Plays and sounds awesome. Excellent vintage condition overall with straight neck, low action, excellent frets and beautiful original finish. No issues! Comes with a vintage 70’s hard-shell case that fits like a glove and I also have an original C 1960 Magnatone soft case that I will include for free if ordered this week see photos. (postage will be extra).
