A very rare and interesting pottery bowl, dating to Nishapur in Iran, 9th.-10th. cent. AD.
The bowl has beautiful calligraphic elements in black and with scrolls on a red glaze.
Size: 230 mm. x 63 mm.
Condition: Nice. Internal hairline, not repaired and almost invisible to the naked eye. This can easily be mended, but we have left it as is. Some possible restoring under lacquered surfaces to preserve the fragile glaze.
