No. 10 Overall painting of general tone and color,
which helps develop the pattern and force the eye
to the train. No. 11 The painting has been
shortened in depth. The foreground was too busy.
No. 12 Nearing Final Stage. The painting still is too
busy and needs to be simplified. Compare this
with the final reproduction to see how much was
eliminated. Final Painting 41 1/2in. wide x 30 1/2in.
