Sarcophagus-shaped rosewood tea caddy from circa 1820. Inside are two tea containers (which can both be lifted out) - one has some of the foil lining still in place, the other has worn. One is hinged top, the other lift-off. Glass mixing bowl in the centre. Exterior has egg & dart beading around the bottom and the lid centre. Four bun feet underneath. Brass key escutcheon. Very good original condition - some water spots on the top is all. Beautiful wood. Measures: 7 inches high by 12 inches long and 6.1/2 inches wide (18 cm high by 30.5 cm long by 16.5 cm wide).
