This is a magnificent, very rare pair of antique large cast bronze door backplates, circa 1900. Measuring almost two feet long, these plates feature amazing detail. The top and bottom of each door plate is ornamented with a fantastic cast bronze anthemion with delicate cutouts, and the plates are bordered in an intricate leaf-and-dart pattern. This is a fantastic antique cast bronze drum-shaped doorknob and matching back plate in the “Broken Leaf” pattern by Lockwood Manufacturing Company. Patented in 1886, this sought-after door hardware features an unusual asymmetrical design of a vase of flowers, surrounded by foliage with bent stems. The door knob features a drum shape, which is more uncommon than its rounded counterpart. This set is in very good antique condition, with the knob showing some signs of use. The doorknob measures 2 ¼” in diameter and 1 ¾” deep; the plate is 6 5/16 by 1 ½”. Please note that we have only one plate and one door knob in this set. NDKS28-RW   « Less

This is an elegant antique Art Nouveau entrance door hardware set, made by Reading Hardware Co. in the “Eulalia” design featured in their 1897 catalog. Made of bronze, the knobs feature a recessed center ornamented with Art Nouveau leaf detail, surrounded by a wide, raised border. The plates feature a charming asymmetrical design of flowing vines and leaves, with flowers surrounding the screw holes. This set includes the larger exterior door plate, the smaller interior plate, and the pair of knobs with their connecting spindle. The door hardware is in very good antique condition with a lovely patina. Each doorknob is 2 ¼” in diameter and 1 ¾” deep; the larger backplate is 2 ½” by 8 ¾” and the smaller one is 2 ½” by 7 3/8”. Found in the Y&T 1910 catalog, these cast iron doorknob sets feature a stunning design of flowers, acanthus leaves, and palmettes, with a delicate beaded border. They are in excellent condition. The doorknobs and escutcheon plates are accompanied by antique mortise locks. Each backplate is 8 ½” by 2 ½”; the knobs are 2 ¼” in diameter and 2 ¼” deep. This is a hard-to-find complete working thumb-latch set for an exterior door, dating from the 1920’s or 1930’s. Made of brass, this door hardware set comes with its split-system lock, four keys, the handle with thumb latch, doorknob, striker, two-part spindle, and backplate. The cast brass handle features an elegant, curved design that is very comfortable in the hand; it has square beveled mounting plates and a matching square escutcheon for the lock cylinder. The inside of the set features a simple, beveled brass plate with a thumb-turn and a smooth brass knob. This entry door hardware has a lovely patina and works beautifully; it is in very good antique condition with some minor dings and scratches to the knob and the handle. The handle measures 8 ½” by 2 5/8”, the interior doorplate is 7” by 2 ¼”, and the doorknob is 2 ¼” in diameter and 2” deep. This is a beautiful pair of antique cast iron 3.5” x 3.5” hinges, dating from the 19th Century, with steeple finials. The three-knuckle hinges feature an elegant leaf and vine design on a textured background, with an abstract design along the knuckles of the hinge on both the front and back. This is a splendid antique cast bronze double pocket door set in a variation of Lockwood’s “Broken Leaf” pattern, patent dated August 10, 1886, and designed for a pair of double doors. The set features four cast bronze plates, ornamented with an urn of flowers at the bottom, with floral and geometric designs throughout. One pair of plates has a keyhole; the other pair features a floret in its place. The locks feature bronze faceplates the asymmetrical “Broken Leaf” design, featuring an urn on one side and a tri-lobal leaf on the other, with vine and leaf detail above. The locks function beautifully. The doorplates are in excellent condition; the locks are in very good antique condition with some minor wear to the catch on one of the locks (pictured). The plates measure 2 1/8” wide, 5 1/8” tall, and 5/8” deep overall; the locks are 3 7/8” deep overall, the faceplate is 6 ¾” tall and 1 ¼” wide, and the box portion of each lock is 4 ½” tall. These are three matching complete sets of antique cast bronze door hardware by F.C. Linde, featuring a five-flower design and including the door knobs, plates, and mortise locks. Dating from the late 1800’s, these sets feature a charming design, with a square crossed with a diagonal band of flowers, and flowers in the opposite corners. This motif is repeated on the knobs, plates, and locks, along with zigzag detail and a shingle pattern. One lock is signed “F.C.L. & Co., Creskill, NJ.” These sets are in very good antique condition; the knobs have some minor wear and one knob has an enlarged set screw hole (pictured) which is barely noticeable and has no effect on the functionality of the set. The doorknobs are 2 ¼” in diameter and 2 ¼” deep, and the backplates are 1 ¾” wide and 5 ½” long. The faceplate of each lock measures 5 ¼” by 15/16”.
