Antique silver and gold drop earrings set with genuine diamonds and citrines as well as green paste (glass). Made circa 1890 - 1900 India. A little over 2 inches in length. Like much Victorian jewellery, these earrings are made with both silver and gold elements. They consist of a series of stylised shapes, combining the beautiful Indian sensibility of elegant curves and geometric forms. The different parts, made of silver, are connected via gold loops, resulting in swinging movement with every move of the wearer. The bottom is an inverse flower or bell shape, especially popular in North India. All parts are set with genuine old cut diamonds and highlighted with green stones, in immiation of emeralds (but test as glass). The bottom of the flower has a ring of faceted pear-shaped citrines that are later, modern replacements. Good condition. Good antique Mughal / Indian jewellery combines the wonders of ages gone by with amazing design and delicacy executed by outstanding craftsmen and is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain as it grows in appreciation throughout the world. Antique, Victorian combination brooch - pendant butterfly. Gold set with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and pearls. Made in England, circa 1850. Measures 1/3/8 inches accross. Weighs approx 10 grams. Beautiful butterfly made of gold and set with precious gem stones. The body is a series of gradated pearls, the wings are largely made of diamonds to give a light effect, with rubies and sapphires on the edges. Eyes are also rubies. Tiny feet of gold. Design incorporates open space, which adds to the light, airy feel of a real butterfly. The jewel can be used either as a brooch or as a pendant. The brooch has a pin with simple C-clasp, typical of the early Victorian period. A concave gold button screws out the pin and the butterfly can be worn around the neck as a pendant. No hallmarks, but I tested the gold, which is at least 14 carat (probably 15 carat). Very good condition. Antique ring made of 18k gold set with rubies and pearls. Made in HOlland/Belgium circa 1890. US Size 5. I am told it can be sized at least 2 sizes up without compromising the setting in any way. Weighs 9 grams. Exquisite Victorian setting and fabulous workmanship: A double row of small seed pearls parallels an outer beaded gold border. The pearls are raised subtlely above the gold. Raised even higher is a central line of alternating rubies and seed pearls. THe whole arches over the finger in a very sturdy band. Has a romantic, medieval look about it and would be perfect for an exceptional wedding / engagement gift. Hallmark inside the shank - engraved 18K. Very good condition. Antique French pendant charm locket made of 18carat gold, with carved quartz cameo mask, agate/citrine, rubies and diamonds. Made in Paris, France, circa 1860 in the style of Giuliano,early 19th century. Approx 7/8 inches high, not including the loop. Weighs 12-13 grams. Exquisitely made locket / pendant. One side has an oval carved mask. Incredible detail to beard, moustache and eyes. He protrudes from an oval base with black enamelling alternating with gold-enclosed reserves holding fabulous pink-red rubies. The black enamel sections each have a tiny diamond, colette set in their center. Sides of the locket have a crenelated, textured design. THe gold reserves from top and bottom protrude over the edges. THe loop is set with diamonds and rubies. THe 2nd side of the locket has similar black enamel reserves alternating with gold 5-sided sections, containing raised gold patterns. In the center is a large agate/citrine. THe locket opens to reveal two beautiful reserves for holding a picture/hair of a loved one. Hallmarks shown on both loops (see ''photos) for Paris circa 1860. Outstanding pair of drop earrings:18k gold, silver, turquoise and seed pearls. Made in France, 19th century - 1850-80. Each earring is 1 3/4 inches long, not including the loops. Weight together: 12 grams. Fabulous design: a curved star, entirely set with turquoise and a pearl in the center is attached to the gold loop that goes through the ear. A loop at the bottom of the star suspends scrolling gold ribbons, which in turn suspend a much larger star, finely set with turquoise and pearls.The metal on top of the earrings is silver, common to the Victorian era, with gold underneath. Excellent workmanship: the tight settings and fine metalwork are of the highest quality and beauty. Besides the fabulous colours of the earrings, the design is extremely attractive and highlighted by the swinging movement with every motion of the wearer. Hallmarks on the loops. Good condition. Antique / Vintage engagement ring made of 18 carat white gold set with a golden yellow sapphire. Made circa 1940. US size 6 1/4. Weighs about 3 grams. Sapphire is very approx 80pts. Beautiful warm golden yellow sapphire set in a classic engagement setting of white gold openwork. The setting seems to lift the stone up and out, while it''s delicate and romantic design adds a great deal of interest. A light and airy feel to the openwork setting with hearts, flowers and foliage, appropriate to the engagement and wedding theme. THe inside of the band is somewhat worn, but the hallmark 18K and a W for the maker are still visible. Besides the wear, invisible when the ring is worn as it is inside the band, there is no damage and the ring looks as beautiful as special on the finger as when it was made. Extremely attractive pair of 14 carat yellow gold and diamond earrings. From an estate and exact age not known, but approx 30-50 years old. Approximately 7/8 inches long (not including the clasp). Weigh 12 grams. Sturdy, shaped hoops, flaring and widening towards the bottom into a broad sweep. The center is a raised panel set with diamonds. One earring was cleaned and one not, noticeable in the ''photos, but not when worn. Omega clasps promise security and comfortable fit. Look absolutely fabulous and are ideal for any outfit, day/night. Each earring is engraved with 14K mark. Generally good condition. A tiny darkening on bottom of the post at the back of the ''cleaned'' earring possibly indicates an old repair, but if this is the case, it is not visible when the earring is worn, nor even without a magnifying glass if you are looking. Antique Victorian, Neo Etruscan 18k gold and intaglio carved lapis lazuli gemstone earrings. Made circa 1850 - 1880. Each earring is approximately 7/8 inches at longest point. Total weight is 7 grams. Classic, elegance: oval cabochon deep blue lapis lazuli gemstones handcarved with a figure of a wild boar and a lion, respectively. Marvely tiny detail - one can almost see individual hairs on each animal. It is possible that the intaglios originate in the Ancient Roman era, but the buyer will make the decision of whether they are 150 or 2000 years old. The lapis is set in a beautiful Neo Etruscan / Classic Revival 18 carat gold setting, constituting concentric rings of twisted filigree gold wires of different patterns and sizes. The setting is almost identical to settings used for jewellery by TIffany & CO, enclosing micromosaics and shown in the book ''Bejewelled By TIffany'', page 133. The backs and loops of the earrings are lovely. THe replaced loops, each with a flowerhead attachment, enhancing the beauty of the earrings and making them extremely comfortable to wear and easy to insert. Earrings are not hallmarked, but tested for 18k gold. Very good condition. Antique, Victorian double daisy ring set with pearls, diamonds, sapphire and ruby gemstones. Made 1870-90. US size 6.25. Rare to find a delicate double floral ring of this quality. A swirl of diamonds encloses a daisy, bypassing and mirrored by another daisy surrounded by an identical scrolling swirl of diamonds. The petals formed by pearls and the center of one a ruby, the other a sapphire. Enticing glint of the diamonds. Setting shows superior quality workmanship which results in a highly attractive, quietly beautiful piece of jewellery. Like much Victorian jewellery, the stones are mounted in silver on gold.
