Antique 22carat gold, gem and enamel earrings. Made circa 1880 - 1920 in India. 1 inch long. Weigh 5.6grams. Classic shape - elongated with elaborate, minute detail making up the whole. Golden globes of various sizes, exquisitely fine wire-work - some details too fine to see with the naked eye, and a series of 3-lobed discs, fanning out near the top. To enhance the gold further, a pair of red enamelled circles flank the largest globe. Old enamel work, called minakari, is incresingly difficult to find in good condition. Balancing the pear-shaped design of the top, is a pear-shaped gemstone pointing the other way. Surrounded by an engraved band of gold, it tests as a spinel or topaz (natural stone, not glass/synthetic). Superb craftmanship went into making this pair of earrings. Tiny detail seen in the little clover-shaped discs set alongside each other. Wonderfully elegant design. New backs make the earrings comfortable to wear for the modern woman who does not have the large distended holes in her ears that were worn by the original owner. Earrings have hallmarks on the backs One reads 22K and the other 16HS. Good condition. Back of one earring shows tiny sign of soldering, but this is not at all visible from the front. (highly magnified in ''photos). Antique Wavecrest glass dresser or jewellery box. Made USA, 1890''s. Measures approx 3 1/4 inches accross and 2 7/8 inches high. Round shape with moulded fan shells on the lid and sides. Colours are off-white/cream with pink shells. The space inbetween the shells is handpainted with very delicate enamel flowers in shades of blue and white with fine, soft foliage. The metal mounts are gilded and have a very pretty beaded pattern. Hinge and clasp are in good shape. Inside is lined with original silk. Very unusual to have the original silk, both top and bottom in such good condition. Underneath is WAVECREST mark. Good condition - no chips/cracks/damage/restorations. Exquisite and very unusual pair of antique Victorian / Edwardian earrings. Made 19th century - 1860-80''s. Measure approx 1 1/4 inches long. Very elegant crescent shape. Each earring has two cabochon oval opals with very finely set small diamonds forming the background. The quality of the opals is lovely - showing a beautiful range of colours from blues to yellows with a marvellous inner glow and iridescence. The stones are set in silver as was most common for the Victorian period. The attachments were probably replaced with clips - very secure and done in 14k gold. Quality of workmanship is superb. The earrings curl up the earlobe when worn - most unusual and elegant. Very good condition. No damage/loss. Set in silver with gold back, typical of the VIctorian era. From either side of the gold clasp: A line of oval opals, each surrounded by diamond semi-circles on either side followed by opals seperated by more complex diamond scrolling design with the central area, which is the front of the necklace suspending 5 tear-drop opals, set in gold. Lovely delicate design with flashing stones as light is reflected. The ideal necklace for wearing at night - enriches any elegant outfit. Gold is not hallmarked, but tested for 18k. Good condition. Antique Victorian era 14carat gold and lapis lazuli bracelet. French, circa 1860-1880. Weighs over 45 grams. Width of band is 7/8 inches. Diameter of round front is over 1 1/4 inches. Circumference approx 7 inches. Fabulous example of French interest in Classic Revival / Neo Etruscan jewellery coinciding with archaelogical discoveries of the 19th century. Ribbed band in segments with twisted wire work and granulation in gold. The front is a round, gently arching disk echoing the decoration of the band (but granules are larger), and with a large cabochon lapis lazuli blue gemstone in the center. Workmanship is of the highest standard, with minute hinges at the joints between segments. The luxurious quality of the bracelet is indicated by the securing mechanisms: a safety chain; a locking mechanism to the clasp that involves the turning of a dial to secure/open and cannot therefore fall open accidentally. There are a number of marks on the bracelet: the tongue of the clasp has a diamond-shaped lozenge with AL&Co over a lion passant with a curling tail; Another hallmark is probably a French assay mark. The dial has a central L surrounde by a somewhat worn name BR?ETE G & CO - tantalising close but not entirely legible (see ''photos). We tested the gold to make sure it is at least 14 carat. Antique Estate pendant made of 14 carat gold, a large cushion-shaped citrine and a ruby. Made in Russia, mid 20th century. Approximately 1 1/2 inches long. A triangular loop suspends a pretty ruffled bow with a lovely bright pink-red ruby in the center where the knot would be. A tiny loop suspends a large cushion-shaped citrine, faceted around it''s rectangular, rounded, sides. (flat top). Held by long claws of an openwork arched mount. Looks lovely around the neck. Hallmarked with Russian marks for 14carat gold - a face in a lozenge next to 583 and a pie-sign mark (sorry, probably a Cyrillic letter) on the other side. Another round mark with a woman''s head in profile. On the other side of the pendant''s mount is a rectangle with GB10, which we believe is the maker''s mark. Very good condition. Antique Victorian era brooch made of gold, enamelled and set with pearls. Circa 1880-1900. Most likely made in the USA. Measures approx 7/8 inches accross. Only the Victorians were capable of such delicacy. Sprigs of blue forget-me-nots curl over the circle formed by the open textured gold, crescent moon. The gold is further enhanced by exquisite enamelled pale blue flowers of the same variety, enclosed in tiny gold walls. Two of the flowers have tiny pearls in their center; one has a little gold granule. The original pin has been resoldered on one side, at the back where it is totally unnoticeable. Exceptional Victorian silver snake bracelet with ruby eyes. Made 19th century - 1850-80. Measures 10 inches long. Widest part of head is 1/2 inch. Weight 40 grams. Body of the snake consists of amazingly crafted scales overlapping each other. V-shaped on the back, crochet-like wires on the side and the belly very realistic with overlapping articulated parallel scales that apparrently slide over each other, allowing total flexibility to the bracelet. The clasp, near the neck catches and holds the body according to the width of the wrist of the wearer and thus accommodates almost any size without any problem. The head is marvellously engraved and has a pair of ruby eyes. Very good condition. Antique openwork platinum, tanzanite and diamond ring. Made first decade of the 20th century during the Edwardian era. Ring is made for a thin/small finger - US size 4 1/2 - but can very easilly be enlarged without causing damage. Fabulous mount/setting in scrolling openwork platinum, set with small, old cut diamonds. THe mount rises towards a solid circle that encloses a light coloured tanzanite stone. There are no hallmarks on the ring, as was common in those days, but the metal tests positively for platinum. Condition is good. Vintage 14 carat gold set with turquoise openwork bracelet / bangle. Probably made in Italy, circa 1950''s. Measurements: band is approx 3 inches accross the outside and 2 1/4 inches accross the inside. It will fit a wrist of approx 7 1/2 inches circumference. Front side of bracelet is a tube of diamond-shaped lattice in braided gold thread, suspended between solid gold borders. Turquoise gems appear to float in the diamond-shaped vacuum of the lattice. Back half of the bracelet consists of a slightly smaller version of the gold lattice, without the turquoise. Back and front half of bracelet joined by solid hinge in good condition. Tonge and mouth clasp with extra security of a safety chain. Comfortable finger disk makes putting it on/taking it off that much easier. A bar on the back/inside of the mouth is inscribed with a badge with maker''s mark and 14k. The maker''s mark is either a slightly open H or a European 7 and 1. Condition is very good.
