Original period manufacture. A well used example, all steel construction, and representing one of the more unusual variants of bayonets developed by Imperial Germany during WWI. Traces of the original black paint remain on the crank-style steel grip, with a simple steel guard with barrel rest, double edged dagger blade with markings on both sides of its ricasso. The blade is of polished steel, displaying staining on both sides, and measuring just under 6 inches in length. There are a few shallow nicks in the edges, more felt than seen, and the tip has been very slightly bentDent free heavy steel scabbard retaining traces of its original black paint finish, but having a very interesting soldier modified belt loop of feldgrau wool. Original era manufacture. A black patent leather bodied pouch which is tinned lined, and has two black leather belt loops which are riveted in place. On the front of the pouch is an ornate emblem of intertwined letters, the meaning of which escapes me at present. The pouch is sound, exhibiting normal age and wear. To cover all the bases this may be a pouch used by a British Volunteer rifle company, so room for discovery remains. PLEASE EMAIL ZIP CODE TO CALCULATE SHIPPING CHARGE.

• Good condition for age and its journey, for some WWII soldiers this book provided a bit of home comfort.
• Special edition created for the Armed Services, #Q-9, New York, 1945.
• In fair to good vintage condition, front and back covers intact but has natural wear, creasing, bends, spine has two staples, pages are brown and some pages has light stain at bottom.
• Softcover , 256 pages, measures 3.75" x 5.5â€, it’s a pocket-sized and easy for troops to carry.
