Rare form! Ancient Chancay culture, northern Peru, ca. 1200 to 1400 AD. Cylindrical pottery vessel with large expressive hairless dog (viringo) shown draped over the top of the lower section. Deep wrinkled face, short relief arms, legs and tail, large red spout. 10-1/4"H, excellent condition, save minor rim repair, as shown. Impressive and rare!
