Traded down the pacific coast from Ecuador, this shell was worth a great deal in terms of trade value or for its use by artisans in making beads, amulets or votives. Northern Peru, ca. 200 to 600 AD, and still retaining its sharp barbed outer-surface and smooth interior. 4" x 4" x 1"D, intact and generally excellent!
